Principle

Permanent magnet and Rare Earth Elements (REE)

Our systems use a new generation of magnets in REE with type Neodymium-Iron-Boron (NdFeB). It is about ultra-powerful magnetic ceramics which were created in the early eighties. These magnets are permanent types ; that is, the material was submitted to a magnetic field that it has absorbed and that it could preserve (in other words the remanence of the material). The use of Rare Earth Elements allows to obtain much more powerful magnets than the traditional ones (in the range of five to ten times more powerful depending on the selected grades), but much more expensive too. Our magnets are treated against corrosion and oxidization through a specific coating which gives them a good resistance to the external environment especially humid atmospheres and saline fogs (seawater). This coating also offers the advantage of not using any harmful element to the human body. Besides our products are OEKO-TEX and REACH certified, a label guaranteeing the absence of these harmful products. Our magnets keep their characteristics until 90°C / 194 °F (until 200°C / 392 °F for some of them, on request). The machine wash is consequently fully possible, even at high temperatures.

Magnetism

A magnet has a North magnetic pole (positive pole) and a South magnetic pole (negative pole). The poles of the same kind repulse each other and those of opposite kinds attract each other. These magnetic fields can also attract other elements containing iron (generally steel for example). From a medical point of view we are not currently aware of negative effects of magnetic fields generated by permanent magnets. Medicines known as « natural » or experimental use magnetism to treat some diseases. However these « recoveries » are not « officially » recognized. As for us we have realized a study about the effects of our magnets on the cardiac pacemakers holders.

The Alternating Polarity

SYSTEMMAG® products are equipped with articulated Magnets Blocks (MB), small end-to-end assembled magnets through a flexible elastomer binder. This configuration allows to have an alternating polarities, giving to the clasp a power eight to ten times as important as a bigger unique magnet (in equal volume).
